Trading Bulletproof Vests for Fuel

May 7th, 2008

Hitting our economy really hard are the gas prices. Besides affecting us personally at the pumps, this cataclysm is affecting our troops. For example the Air Force had a 600 million dollar increase in their budget just for fuel alone. This increase could have been used for much needed military equipment. Currently we are trading bullet proof vests and armored vehicles, for fuel that’s being purchased from other countries. We need to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Our reliance on foreign oil is holding us hostage to the whims and volatility of oil producing regions around the globe. It’s time for a new era of reason.
